Export Data from Kanbanize

Generally, projects in Kanbanize consist of numerous boards, and tens, hundreds and in some cases even thousands of cards. Assigned users could easily seek out the information they need with the help of the advanced search, however, for external stakeholders and outside systems, we have developed a couple of handy methods to filter and export information.

1. Through the Advanced Search

With the help of the advanced search, you can filter the information you wish to export by selecting among the wide range of filters available in Kanbanize. In this example we will export cards on a particular board that are blocked and are not low priority however, you can be less specific or more specific than this depending on the situation.

Use the Download icon at the bottom right corner of the window to generate a Download window in Kanbanize.

Once you have saved the file on your device, the information inside will be available in a structured and thorough table like this one.

2. Through the Custom Widgets

You can export information in a similar way directly from you custom widgets on the main dashboard as well. In order to do so, just select the settings menu located in the top right corner of the desired widget and use the Download icon.

    Hi,
Actually we use the community version of the kanbanize board, so we were trying to export the data using the excel sheet method, but it seems that even that option is only available for premium users.

The problem is that the first method of export board data won’t export ‘permanently archived task’ data.

So i think you should allow to export using excel sheet for community version till 31st march, 2015.

    Hello Prem,

    Thank you for your feedback.

You can export your data from the permanent archive from the search again. It is not exactly the same export, but it will export the main data points.

Another option would be to unarchive the tasks and then export them, but this might be a tedious thing if you have a lot of tasks.

    Cheers,
    Dimitar
